Cliff Hercules - Head Coach
Cliff, currently a UEFA 'B' Licensed coach has a wealth of coaching experience.
For six years he was a Football Development Manager who co-ordinated Community schemes that influenced in excess of 3000 boys & girls a year. Cliff is also a qualified Hockey & Badminton coach.
He was Manager of Aylesbury United FC for 18 months, gaining promotion to the Ryman Premier League in 2002.
Cliff’s playing career started with local club Oving back in the early eighties. Then as a young 20-year-old he joined semi-professional side Aylesbury United, where he would really make his mark.
He went on to play 659 games and score 301 goals for Aylesbury in a career spanning 15 years. Cliff also spent Two & a half years playing for Slough Town in the senior non-league Conference division, where he played as a striker and defender.
After retiring from football he set up his own Football club in 2006 called Hercules Lions FC - his teams went on to win Leagues and the County Cup. He Currently coaches Tring Athletic U18s in the Midweek Floodlit League.
Highlights of his career are:-
1) As a child scoring a hat-trick in a Cup final playing for the under 11s.
2) Scoring the goal that got Aylesbury United promoted to the National League Conference.
3) Inventing the duck walk that became famous on the television program 'They think it's all over'
4) Playing against the full England squad in 1998 prior to their European championships and getting the then England captain Brian Robsons' shirt.
